Why I Use "God," "Nature," and "The Universe" Interchangeably. by Onyxe Nnaemeka

In many of my videos, writings, and teachings, you might have noticed that I often say "God," "the universe," and "nature"—sometimes even in the same breath. For some, this might seem confusing. For others, it feels completely natural. So I want to take a moment to explain why I speak this way, and what it really means to me.

First of all, I believe there's a Higher Power—a divine intelligence that runs through all life. Some call this God, others say the universe, and some connect most deeply with nature. In my heart, I believe they are different names for the same Source.

When I say God, I'm speaking to the divine presence that is bigger than us, wiser than us, and always with us.

When I say the universe, I’m speaking about the vast intelligence that organizes life in a mysterious and sometimes magical way—the force that opens doors, aligns paths, and teaches through signs and seasons.

And when I say nature, I’m honoring the visible expression of that divine order—the rhythms of the earth, the seasons of life, the lessons we learn from the trees, the birds, the rivers, and even the silence.

Each of these words helps me express something spiritual in a way that’s inclusive, not exclusive. I know that not everyone connects with the same language, so I try to speak in a way that welcomes more hearts in. Whether you are religious, spiritual, or simply thoughtful about life, I hope my words reach you where you are.

I’m not trying to water anything down—I’m trying to bring people together. To point toward the light that guides us, whatever name we choose to call it.

At the end of the day, it’s not about the label—it’s about the love, the wisdom, the truth, and the presence behind the label.

So next time you hear me say “God,” “the universe,” or “nature,” just know this: I’m talking about that same beautiful Source that gives life meaning, helps us grow, and whispers to our soul in many ways.

With love and light, always.
